We are always happy to see our friends from Flaar at the many shows each year around the world. Here is the latest FLAAR report on Flaar report on digital garment printers at the recent Sign Istanbul 2017 show held recently in Turkey. Learn more about FLAAR here http://www.large-format-printers.org/ Normally we include T-shirt printers with textile printers inside our general FLAAR Report. But gradually we are moving more and more into T-shirt printers so this year we are making T-shirt printers a separate full-color FLAAR Report. You can find some T-shirt printers at most signage expos around the world. The difference is that Sign Istanbul, ISA and SGIA in the USA, Sign Africa, and other expos tend to have desktop size printers. Or, if the machine handles more than one shirt, then the printer is especially made specifically for T-shirts. The DTG M6 seen on the front cover photo is a 6-platen T-shirt printer. This is a very interesting article from Impressions magazine which compares DTG with traditional screenprinting in a screen-printing shop. "...Consistent large-volume jobs are hard to acquire and maintain due to the competition among screen printing. A small shop many need a 12-piece job just to stay busy. This is where DTG printing stands out. Ideal for low-volume jobs because setup and breakdown is negligible compared to screen printing, DTG printing is slower but preparation is faster. A conservative estimate for screen printing 12 shirts - a five-color job, from setup to breakdown - is four-plus hours. With DTG, 12 shorts can be prepped, printed and cured in about 30 minutes...read more...". This is a very interesting article that we thought would be worth sharing.
Here's another video sneak peek at the upcoming DM8 high speed DTG machine. Development is coming along nicely and expected launch dates will be announced soon.
